Webinars for Wise Nonprofits: Not Again! New Governance Changes under the Nonprofit Revitalization Act

Even if you updated your organization's bylaws and corporate documents when New York's nonprofit law changed in 2014, recent additional changes to the law mean that you should be updating your bylaws and conflicts policies once again, and taking advantage of some newly clarified governance rules. After reviewing highlights of earlier changes to the nonprofit law, we will describe the latest amendments.Learning Objectives: Participants will be able to make sure their bylaws and conflict of interest policy comply with the latest changes to New York's nonprofit law - including a few changes that will make it easier for the Board to operate.

Using Data to Understand the Housing Needs of Vulnerable Families

Presenters will discuss the potential of cross-system data sharing, looking at real-world examples of systems and their benefits. Participants will hear from Karen Pelletier, Mecklenburg County Community Support Services, and Ashley Williams Clark, Institute for Social Capital, UNC Charlotte, on ways Mecklenburg County, North Carolina is using data matching to help their child welfare and homeless/housing professionals better target vulnerable families for the appropriate housing and services.

Online training by the Corporation for Supportive Housing: Free
Presenters will discuss what types of data can be used to identify needs and establish eligibility criteria for a Keeping Families Together (KFT) intervention, and how to use data to ensure that service-rich resources are targeted to families with the greatest needs. Participants will learn about communities that are using their data to target supportive housing for their most vulnerable families. CSH will be joined by Bridgette Lery, MSW, PhD, Senior Policy Analyst, San Francisco Human Services Agency.
